We want you to ensure you enjoy a bottle of Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso. A classic, deep ruby coloured, vintage red of which ancient Roman writers and personalities often sang the praises and still do to this day!
Indigenous to Northern Italy the grape has been well known since antiquity producing a deeply coloured wine that is robust and full-bodied with discernible tannins yet polished and supple with black fruit flavours and almond notes.
It has a long and pleasant finish marked with notes of plums and currants.
This is paired with a bottle of Fernando Cappelo Friulano Friuli Grave dry white Grave wine that has become not only the definitive standard for the Friuli Grave wine but also the flag bearer for the Friuli region. It has a warm, straw-yellow colour and to the nose gives sweet feelings of acacia flowers, ripe melon, Golden Delicious apples and carob all blended together. To the palate it is soft and fresh without sharp edges, round with a good finish with notes of apple and carob which blend with sensations spiced by thyme and fresh sage, leaving us with its characteristic bitter almond after-aroma.
